Lose the CAPs

If there is one thing I hate the most when chatting to someone, that is IF THEY HAVE THE CAPS KEY ON, AND NOT NOTICE HOW ANOYING IT IS. But I never those of having a campaign to ask hardware vendors to remove Caps Lock from the keyboard. But Someone did. CapsOff is a group created to campaign for this noble cause, which remind me of another noble cause of Banning the use of Comic Sans. Such causes makes me feel that the world is in good shape. Keep it up, and let’s have a Caps-free Comic-free computing.

I think losing the CAPS key on the keyboard would do no good.
I mean, sometimes when you do assignments, you need to write long titles. and in many cases you need to shout in the conversations! hehe

interesting though! never heard of it! :D

Im going to have to stand with Isam on this one, it comepletely grinds my gears when people uses capitals for no apparent reason, specially if its in a text message (i.e on a tiny pixe- screen of a mobile phone).. boy, those leave me boiling! having said that however, i do have a different opnion when it comes to “removing” the little brat of a key, i mean, without caps-lock, how will you be able to get on other peoples’ nerves when you want to? right? works both ways..

A good logical step towards ending the nuisance however, could be to educate our people more about nettiquete, maybe as part of a computer subject in school? “online ethos” hehe.. (please note, ethos not ethics.. last thing we need is more bureaucracy), at least if we cant have grown people respect uncrowned rules of the information highway, we’d be able to teach our younglings to do it in the future..

    my .02 cents

I one hundred percent agree about the redundancy of the Caps lock - since there’s the shift key, that you can easily hold down while continuing to type (if you can type properly that is), then there is no need for the Caps Lock key at all. In what instance, in any type of writing, will you be using CAPS for such a continuous extent that you will need the Caps lock instead of just holding down the Shift key? So yeah, I like this point. I’m gonna become an advocate!

The Comic Sans thing? Never thought about it. It’s an ugly font, but there are uglier out there, no?
