JP2Go (JP on Mobile)
First I thought I was the only one obsessed with Jordan Planet, and check the site from his mobile while away from a PC. Then I learned that Jameed tries to check it from his mobile during his long hours in the lab, and last week, Laith told me that he checks RSS feeds from his mobile. So, it was the time for Jordan Planet to be mobile friendly.
For the last hour or more, Iyas and I had been working on http://wap.jordanplanet.net (Well I did most of the work, he did the testing and feedback). We are now proud to present “JP2Go | Jordanian wisdom on the go“. The mobile version is designed to have titles only in the main page, with author names, as well, you will be able to read those posts in Jordan Planet without even the need to have their blogs support mobiles.
Now, As Iyas would like to put it “It is part of 2006 JP Surprises” .. I hope that more people than just me, Iyas, and Laith will get to use it :)

Yazan: It depends on what is used for breaks in the original posts, as there are some allowed tags, and some stripped tags. Thanks for feedback, I will see if there is a way to make it better.
Jameed: It wouldn’t had been possible without the nagging from you :) ba3dain Quality Assurance is a vital part of any software production, and you were head of QA.
Nader: You too ? :) we need an institution or something for the addiction.
Lina: I would say 99% it should work with your current mobile. Give it a shot.

Great work guys!
Mobile content is the focus of all mobile operators in the region. It might be worth talking to third parties that can provide you with a mobile gateway and hook you up with the operators so people can subscribe to your content and have it delivered through mobile.
For example, You might want to add SMS alerts that people can subscribe to and get the latest posts as they are posted. Will be very useful for people who don’t have a mobile RSS reader ;)

Great Issam!
Way to go JP! So next on our Agenda: World domination! :D
Anyways, can you please post the settings to get WAP running on your cell phone? Fastlink’s automated configuration thing is not working for me!I’ve tried to call them but no answer (I got bored after waiting for sometime). I can’t access myfastlink.jo as I can’t remember my secret answer to get my pass sent to me!
Or maybe it’s another trip to their sale shop where I have to deal with some fake blonde she devil? Please spare me this…
What is the dailup #,IP,log name, pass, bearer should be Data or GPRS?
Okay after I got the fastlink account hooked up, how do I go to wap.jordanplanet.com
Okay I know I’m technologically challenged when it comes to cell phones!
For the record, http://www.fastlink.jo is useless! Does not have sufficient info to get things done!
