They’ve done it again

Sony Ericsson announced their latest P990 phone, which comes as a successor to the P800, P900, and P910 mobiles. Major features include WiFi support, 2MP camera, 3G support (thus the dual camera for video calls), FM Radio with RDS, and it comes with Symbian 9.1 with UIQ 3 interface, and Opera 8 with Macromedia Flash lite.

Now as a very happy customer and owner of a P910, I am very much looking forward the P990 with is supposed to be released in the first quarter of 2006. So I better start saving :)

Did you hear that none of the apps for the P900/P910 will work on this one due to new security frameworks in Symbian9? They will all need to be recompiled, which is easy, but considering a lot of the apps are from small developers who might no longer be in business or no longer support their apps, we’re left at their mercy. We’ll just have to see.

But on the bright side, it does look insanely cool. Def start saving. :)
