Jordan Short
Thanks to Lina who told us about the Jordan Short Film Fest., I alerted a couple of my friends, and went to see it tonight.. And it was good..
This was my first visit to “Al-Balad” Theater in Jabal Amman, and it is somehow perfect for such events. Only bad things is that there are no backs for the seats. Now at the entrance they greeted us with toothpicks, and a “Rating Matrix” for the movies, with “Faye3, Mnee7 Kteer, Mnee7, Nos nos, Mosh Fahem” as ratings for the movies.
We started by presenting films by Laith Majali and Amin Matalga, both who are Jordanians abroad. The ones my Amin I had watched before from his site, but yet I enjoyed them being screened (instead of a small low resolution version offered from his site), as well, there were 3 films by Laith. The one I liked the most was “The Jordan Experience” although my friends thought it was somehow a repeatition of already existing similar films, and complained about having it being shot in the most Jordan-TV way, nothing creative in the shots, but creativity was in the editing.
The second part of the screenings was for Jordanians living in Jordan, and I have to say I was very impressed. Some of the ideas was creative, and presented in a very nice way, most notably “Overdose” by : Ammar Quttaineh, and “Death by Chocolate” for AFC. Basically when we left we were happy, creative, and with a busy mind thinking how can they make it better next year. For those who missed it today, you still have tomorrow (Tuesday), don’t miss it ..
