Jim Carrey and 3am `3afel
I just watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind for Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet. And it is the first time that I watch a movie for Jim Carrey that doesn’t have his same old jokes, body language and facial expresions. My Friend Anan hates Jim Carrey, and he thinks that he is like 3am `3afel. Now “3am `3afel” for those who doesn’t know him is a stupid comedy character for a Jordanian actor. Beside the fact that the character is far from being funny, it had been repeated over and over again in a number of TV series and commercial and theaters. That most can’t really stand hearing his name, his sound, or the way he looks. Jim Carrey managed to do that by repeating himself over and over again. he had some nice movies, no doubt about that.. but I think that he fell in the trap of repeating himself in different movies.
As for the “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”, beside having a long name that I am sure I will forget tomorrow, it doesn’t have anything special, and I won’t think I will recommend it first to anyone.. it had nice editing, Camera shots, takes and effects .. but I didn’t see any outstanding performace from any of the actors, or maybe “Kirsten Dunst” did a nice performance.. beside that, nothing special..
The similarity between Jim Carrey, a multi-million actor, and 3am `3afel really suprise me on how accurate it is.. Why the actor of 3am `3afel will never be a multi-million actor .. I wonder..
I didn’t watch the movie, but it had great reviews, I’m surprised you didn’t like it.
Well, it have a strange concept: it used the idea of removing someone from memory, with nice camera shots, and movie editing, to talk about an old issue, that is “moving on” and “starting over” in a relationship..
The “Memory-playing” and “It’s all in your head” movies are not new.. There was “Butterfly Effect” and “Identity” before it, and ofcourse there is “Fight Club” and “Secret Window”.. I may be biased against the movie because it had Jim Carrey, but I didn’t think that having a “Memory Game” makes it anymore special.
Yeah, I agree. The memory scenario is being taken over the top. You should watch Memento, I think it was one of the first memory movies, but it’s excellent.
Ofcourse ! how did I forget Momento :) you forgot point #7 in my previous list :) there is little chance that I didn’t watch a good movie like that ..
