At last, we had the JB committee meetings. And it was much more than what I expected or wanted. I proposed having an evaluation of performance, as the committee has been there for some time, and the meeting ended up taking 3 hours, with everyone being honest about everything even honest about personal feelings towards others in the committee. I guess that this is good, as we really needed that.
Today I starting discovering the games that Gentoo provide, first I stalled some very good games, I guess Gentoo is the Linux Distribution that provide almost everything. With about 5349 unique packages it makes it really the #1 distro in terms of providing packages. Maybe Debian gives more, I don’t know much about Debian.
Today I got contacted by an old university friend, it seems that he wants to get into Web Development, I advised him to go PHP, as most of the Web Development is going that way, and PHP is easy to learn. I will follow him and see how much it is easy to learn.

I spent most of the day searching on the internet about the broken route issue, until this moment I can not access by space, I sent emails to my ISP, to the admin of the server in Atlanta that the route is broken at, and to some network admin at my ISP. Google did not help me a lot with fixing the issue, or at least understanding it, and knowing what is my role in it.
Anyhow, today I started to think about the new design for my blog. I am using now one of the templates, that is not good enough, I need to make a site with an identity.. The problem is that I suck with design, and colors .. I find hard time finding colors and design that look good, my artistic look, and feel is not really polished as it should be. Be sure that I will get a second opinion on any design that I make, I don’t what the site to end up with an eye hurting design.

Tonight I met some very interesting person, he is very excited about Linux, and about helping and supporting the LUG in here, I really hope that his excitement will be translated soon into actions on the ground, and that soon we will start having regular LUG meetings. He seemed to be that he is surprised to see anyone that knows Linux, and know how to talk Linux in Amman :)
I spend all the time beside that trying to fix some problem that is preventing me from accessing my site. For some unknown reason, my route to bayazidi.net is broken, and the problem is somewhere in Atlanta (USA). I don’t know what to do about it, I called my ISP, and they can access it fine, almost everyone in the world can access the site fine, but I can not. I hope this issue will be fixed soon.
I guess that writing here got me into a habit that will stay, although I know only 2-3 other people are reading it, but this is not the point. The point is that I started to write what I have in mind, whether people read it or not.
Tomorrow I will call my ISP, and hope to get the Route thing fixed.

I wanted to mention that the blog you read is for the day before, right now this blog is dated in Wednesday, because it is after mid night, but I am blogging my day which is Tuesday.
Today at last, the money I added to the internet credit card appeared in my account. So I bought the domain bayazidi.net hoping to make my blog there later, and to use the domain and emails for me and my family. I registered the domain with RegisterFly. They appear to have great support. I am still waiting until the world knows about the new arrival to the Web, and be able to access the new domain. My company was generous to provide me with the space needed. In fact, they gave me 10s of times more than I need. I think that I am doing fine with my mission to lose some weight, I cut of all the snacks, and started to have one meal only a day. And over that, I decided to move a little :) I mean exercises. As I learned today that I had gained 3 more Kilograms since May. I need to lose 10-15 Kilograms before I can say “take it easy” .. But that does not mean that I am taking it hard :) Wish me luck.

Today I was tired and asleep most of the day, mostly because of the working late yesterday. To I decided to sleep early today, around 2:30am. I spend the day working mostly, waking up at 11:30, and added 4 new sections to Linux4arab, looked for proper logos for them. Now Linux4arab now have Distributions. Games, Software, and Documentations sections. I hope that people will write more and more under them.
At Last, I called for a JB meeting. I hope that it will take place as it should, we really need that meeting badly, I hope that something will come out of it. CISV had played very small or no part of my life recently, I am not sure if I want this to continue, right now I have less things to worry about. Maybe I want out of the JB as well.

It is around 4:30 am. I am still working. I prefer night over day, as much as I prefer winter over summer. I find the night to be quiet and calm in a way that makes it possible for me to work without distraction, either from the outside, or from people in my messenger list. I filed a new bug today to gentoo bugzilla. I really like the fact that in the Open source projects everything is transparent. I can see what are the current Open, and closed bugs, and what are the new bugs and so. Although my bug report was for something trivial, I hope that it will help them make a better product. As I find Gentoo to be the best Distro that I had used so far.

Today I woke up a little late, spent time on testing some programs for work and so.. in the afternoon I continued my shopping, and I think that I am done, as I already spend a lot of money on clothing. Probably the most strange thing today is that some complete stranger offered 500MB hosting, and a domain to give Linux4Arab their own forum. Although it is tempting, I think that I can not accept it. As putting a part of Linux4arab on someone’s else hand, a complete stranger is not something that seems to be smart. Anyhow, I will talk to him and see how he can help. Right now.. I decided that I really, really, really need to lose some weight. Wish me luck

Well, Today I did something that had been in my Agenda for about 3 months … I bought some cloths :) not that I had been naked previously, but I needed some cloths. And as I don’t really like shopping, I waited until I convince someone to come by with me. And An^2 again had been kind to come by. The most 2 things I hate about shopping for cloths are the 2 things that you must do.. first, is to wear the cloths to check the size and look and so before actuality buying them, the second thing is to get into a bargain with the salesperson to get discount. The thing is that the salesman expects you to go in a bargain with him, so everything is overpriced in order to cut down a little on the price after the bargaining. What can I say, I went through that, and at the end, I got what I want .. Next time I will go to buy cloths will be probably in months, or maybe I will ask someone to buy for me :)

Well, I did not post yesterday, so here is this for yesterday.. Well, my day actually started in the afternoon, when I rented the 24 TV Series DVDs, Season 2.. for a second I thought that it was a mistake, the feature is about 1013 minutes in 6 DVDs ! Anyhow, right after I rented them, I went with my friend An^2 to get few things for the gathering he is having in his house. His university friends were coming. I really like those gathering, as mostly they are CS students, and working in the computer field, and as much as we try to avoid it, our discussion becomes technical at some point :)
Well, when it started, I tried as much as I can to be calm on expressing my strong feelings against MS and denying people the option of an alternative … And I failed :) I exploded there .. talking non-stop, giving strong arguments, and making everyone quite as I left them no chance to talk.. At this moment, An^2 helped me to get out with minimum damages :)
Afterall it was a wonderful evening, that I really enjoyed. But I guess after it some of the new faces between the attendees will think twice before opening an OS discussion with me :) Back Home, right when I came, I put the first DVD of 24, and I discovered that I made a mistake.. The mistake was that now I have to watch it all, all the 6 DVDs, as it was really thrilling, and got me really hooked up to it.. My advise, only watch the first 10 minutes if you have some 1013 minutes to spare :)

I still did not sleep, having tens of things in mind. I thought for a second about stoping to care about Arabeyes, and become either a silent observer, or a non-observer for a while. It is as if my ideas are thrown back or thrown out. Anyhow, I am not sure what I will do with my Arabeyes status. Maybe I need a long Arabeyes break. A real long and away break from Arabeyes, maybe after months, or a year or more, I come back and find things turning great. Who knows?

Well today I spent most of the day working on a project for work. I spent a great part of the morning on Linux4arab again. And at last I found someone that will make me an advertising banner for the site. And there was a post in the General mailing list in Arabeyes that found my comments about making an Arabic site for Arabeyes offending. Anyhow, I decided today to go and buy a domain name for my site, as the Dynamic DNS subdomain is as reliable as my connection, and that is not that good. So, going to the bank, and adding some money to my Internet Credit Card took me about 45 minutes inside the bank. Sometimes I think that they never get something right from the first time. Right now I am exploring my options, interesting options was RackShack and GoDaddy. I am not sure why there is such a difference in pricing. Most probably I will go with GoDaddy, and I heard some good words about it. After being done with the domain, I will worry about the hosting :) One step at a time Isam.

This is my first post to a bog. So I am not sure what to say, but I will talk anyway :p Well today was like yesterday mostly, nothing special, Woke up around 10:30, jumped to the PC, and had been in front of the PC till now. I was supposed to go to my cousin’s house, he is having a big party/gathering, but I did not feel like it, and felt that I will not enjoy myself there. The biggest thing that I did today is that I added a new Section to Linux4Arab, That is for Digest News. I started with making a News Digest for Arabeyes for the past 2 months. I will continue doing that for Arabeyes every 2 weeks. I hope it will fill the lack of any Arabic language news about the #1 Arabization project, Funny, I know.
